There are times in your life when you see an opportunity to help others in your community or you feel moved to give something back to others.

The Salvation Army offers many ways for you to help. The Central Oklahoma Area Command works year-round to serve Oklahoma County, Cleveland County and Canadian County.

Boys & Girls Club

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs serves as a youth center for children of working parents. Children are provided with meals, homework assistance, character-building activities and recreation activities at the center, located at 2808 SE 44th and at at 201 S. Bickford in El Reno, 73036.

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club had a yearly attendance of 23,805 children and their families, and more than 24,000 meals and snacks were served. Kids spent over 41,000 hours in physical activity & recreation and received over 7,500 hours of help with homework.

What do we do?

  • Spiritual Care – The Salvation Army is a church with ordained ministers equipped to provide spiritual formation and growth
  • Feed the hungry – more than 300,000 meals served yearly in Red Shield Diner; 36,000-plus grocery orders given in Client Choice Food Pantry
  • Shelter families – The Salvation Army Men’s and Family Shelters provided over 29,000 nights of shelter
  • Senior programs – We have FIVE senior centers in Central Oklahoma that give the elderly a place to call their own as well as a hot meal every day
  • Boys & Girls Club – The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs offer a safe, fun and educational place for at-risk children after school and during summer
  • Disaster response – The Salvation Army is a first-line disaster response organization, serving food, water, long-term and short-term care and comfort after natural or man-made disasters.
  • Service – The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma provided aid to over 139,000 people  in Central Oklahoma alone!
