This year marks the 25th Anniversary of The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary annual fall fundraiser, “Celebration of Hope.”  The event is set for Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at the Marriott Hotel, Northwest Expressway.

The Auxiliary’s goal is to raise $125,000 to help meet the ever-increasing needs of suffering families in Central Oklahoma.

The Celebration of Hope starts at 6 p.m. with live and silent auctions, dinner, entertainment and inspiration. The Honorary Chair of the event is Rumble the Bison from The Oklahoma City Thunder and special guest is Kelly Garrison, an Oklahoma Olympic gymnast and speaker.

Entertainment will be provided by June Carter and emcee for the event is Mike Boatman, Oklahoma Toastmasters International speech champion.

Tickets are $60 with preferred tables of 10 for $1,000.

Monies raised by this year’s “Celebration of Hope” will open “a huge door of opportunity for good works” by providing financial assistance for these Central Oklahoma Area Command Salvation Army programs and services, said Associate Area Commander Major Francina Proctor.

Funds raised will go toward:

•        Christmas Assistance for over four thousand needy children and senior adults

•        Supplies for the Men’s, Women’s, and Family Shelters

•        Scholarships for the Boys & Girls Club

•        Food and equipment for the Food Pantry, Red Shield Kitchen, and Thanksgiving Community Brunch

“I hope you will consider partnering with me to help God’s people in need.  Know that every penny received will go these programs,” said Proctor.  “Also know that a gift in any amount will be a blessing and will help The Salvation Army to continue ‘Doing the Most Good’ for many who have lost all hope.”
