OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (September 28, 2021) – Awakening Foundation and Altura HealthShare have teamed up with The Salvation Army to support individuals and families in need. Contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith will present a donation to The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma on Sunday, October 3rd at Crossings Community Church. The donation will support The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma’s programs to help people recover from the resurgence of the pandemic and stay in their homes this holiday season.

The Salvation Army has worked nonstop since the start of the pandemic to provide help and hope to those in need by providing shelter to those experiencing homelessness, meal services to those experiencing food insecurity, financial assistance to those facing evictions, and emotional and spiritual care to those needing support. With the resurgence of COVID-19, The Salvation Army anticipates requests for service to increase.

“I am thrilled and delighted with our Fall events line up and the continued partnership with Salvation Army to make a tangible impact in each of the local communities we are visiting,” said Dan Fife, president and founder of Awakening Foundation. “ This past year our team faced some of the biggest challenges in the history of live events. Faith and courage helped us face those obstacles; and we have found blessings and gratitude on the other side of all the hard work and grit. Our team is honored to come alongside the Salvation Army to support the important work happening on the front lines of those in need.”

The concert tours shows are adhering to local and venue requirements as it relates to COVID-19 to ensure families and friends can safely enjoy live music again.

Thanks to supporters like Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare, The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma continues to provide emergency assistance through its social services office, emergency shelter for single men, single women and families, youth programming at The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, seniors programming at four senior centers, feeding programs, spiritual care and disaster relief.
