Cleveland County Corps

Cleveland County Corps

The Salvation Army, an international movement founded in London in 1865, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

The Salvation Army was first established in Cleveland County in 1892 in Norman with a Corps, a Salvation Army church. The Salvation Army Officers began reaching the community through sharing God’s Word and love. The Norman Corps today is a vibrant congregation with weekly youth activities, men’s and women’s fellowships, Bible studies and much more.

Our social services program began in 1953 and our shelter program in 1978. Operating out of a house at 326 East Frank Street until October 1980, The Salvation Army currently resides at 318 E. Hayes.

Here in Cleveland County, The Salvation Army continues to strive to provide services to any and all who are in need. We provide emergency shelter, community meals, financial assistance, grocery assistance and many other programs.

We work hard to collaborate with all  Cleveland County agencies to ensure every individual receives the help they need.
